This series from the first epistle of Peter will focus on the Greek word, “hupomeno” – which literally means “to place under.” Here, the ESV has translated this word “subject” and is a major theme in the Christ following life. Christians intentionally place themselves under others, they “choose under” as Jesus did when he came and subjected himself to becoming human, becoming a servant, and becoming obedient to death on the cross. This important teaching will show us four specific areas and relationships in our lives in which we are called to choose under.
