Eastview Church Family,

It’s hard to believe today is December 1^st. As we enter the holiday season, we’re excited to celebrate Christmas together as a church family. We’re also filled with a growing sense of excitement and expectation for what God is preparing for us in the coming year! As the Holidays begin to usher in a busy season, the Eastview Search Team has been busy the last several weeks.

The week of November 20^th Slingshot Group presented Eastview with a short list of four qualified candidates for consideration. These individuals were among the larger pool of approximately 40 candidates engaged in Slingshot’s official Eastview pipeline.

The week of November 27^th we began the interview process with these four candidates which included:

• A thorough review of each candidate’s submitted profile, references, resumes, etc.
• Two initial interviews with each candidate led by the Search Team
• A sampling and survey of each candidate’s preaching ability via video sermons

The week of December 4^th the Search Team will continue meeting to review notes, impressions, and ratings from the interview process. We have a guided “scorecard” to objectively evaluate each candidate individually, and then collectively against one another. The team’s goal is to collaborate and build consensus on whether there is a candidate who is qualified to pass along to our Elder team for Phase two of our interview process. This phase would include additional interviews, assessments, and on-site visits.

We are excited to be actively pursuing our next Lead Pastor and chapter here at Eastview. We are eager and committed to keep moving ahead while maintaining the appropriate pace for a decision of this magnitude.
