Lead Pastor Update November 13, 2023

Nov 13, 2023

Eastview Family, as we enter November our Lead Pastor search has been active for almost two months. We’re hopeful that we’ll be reviewing a short list of recommended candidates by Slingshot by the end of this month. For more information on the scope of this candidate pool and the process please refer to our October 6th and 28th updates. As we wait with expectation, we feel called to set aside the month of November as an intentional month of prayer. We recognize that we depend on God through continual prayer, so the Eastview Elders and staff have begun to pray daily over this search process. We’re inviting you, your family, friends, and small group to join us. Below are five prayer prompts that you can use. Would you commit to praying daily for this process and the person God is preparing to join us?

  • Lord, as we embark on this journey, we have faith that you are guiding our steps. Help us to remain hopeful and expectant for who you are preparing for this role and who Eastview is becoming through this season.
  • Lord, we seek your guidance to find the right lead pastor for our congregation. Grant us the wisdom to discern the candidate who aligns with your will, Eastview’s vision, and who you want us to become.
  • Lord, grant us unity and harmony as we work together to select a new lead pastor. May our efforts be driven by love and respect for one another.
  • Lord, we pray for our next lead pastor and their family that you would grant them wisdom, discernment, peace, and protection from the enemy in this season.
  • Lord, we seek a lead pastor who not only shares our faith but understands and respects the unique culture and needs of our congregation and community. Guide us in finding someone who can connect, partner, and lead in a gospel way.

The Elders have also set aside time this month to give an in person update on our Lead Pastor Search, answer questions, and lead us in a time of prayer. If you would like to join us for this special time it will be held in the Sanctuary at the Normal Campus from 3:00-4:15pm on Sunday November 19th.
